TCCIMA hosts Iran-Armenia business forum
(MENAFN) Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (TCCIMA) held an Iran-Armenia business forum on Sunday throughout which the attendees highlighted the vital status of Armenia as Iran’s lone land entry for going into Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) markets.
Iran’s commercial representative in Yerevan Akbar Godari, chief of Iran-Armenia mutual Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hervik Yarijanian, and chief of Aras Free Zone Organization Majid Kiani were the main speakers at the stated business forum, as reported by IRNA.
While giving his speech at the forum, Godari highlighted Armenia’s special geopolitical position between Iran’s bordering nations and expressed that “Armenia is the only EAEU member with which Iran shares land border, and considering the fact that the country’s borders with Azerbaijan and Turkey are currently closed, Armenian market has a lot of potential for Iranian businessmen.”
Throughout the last year since the 13th administration has taken office, nine rounds of discussions have been hosted among Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union, and problems associated to the implementation of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) among the two parties have been fixed, Godari stated.
He confirmed that “The negotiations are in the legislative stage and will be finalized within the next few months.”
