KSA’s central bank chief: inflation in Kingdom at steady level
(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia’s Central Bank Gov. Fahad Al-Mubarak stated in a meeting on Sunday that inflation in the nation is still within a sensible level.
Saudi Arabia’s consumer price index surged 3 percent last month on a yearly basis, according to official figures issued on Thursday, jumping from a 2.7 percent rise in the month before (July).
He stated that the nation’s economy carried on to sustain a high expansion rate as numbers for the April-June indicated a real gross domestic output expansion of 11.8 percent on a yearly basis.
Al-Mubarak was giving his speech at the 46th ordinary session of the Council of Arab Central Banks and Monetary Authorities Governors that started in Jeddah.
The two-day gathering of the Arab central bank heads also looks to talk about central bank digital currencies as well as the future of the economic system.
The SAMA head stated that the overall unemployment level remained to decrease in Saudi Arabia, hitting 6 percent throughout the January-March period of this year, and the unemployment level between Saudis also carried on its fall hitting 10.1 percent in the stated quarter of 2022.
