    Iran, Africa shipment surges 40 percent in 5 months on year

    (MENAFN) The worth Iran’s shipment to Africa surged 40 percent in the opening five months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, the representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) declared.

    Making the comments in the gathering to inspect the business prospects of Iran and the African continent, Ruhollah Latifi mentioned that improving ties with additional nations, counting in 55 African nations, and being existent in their markets is one of the strategies of the 13th administration.

    He also stated that “Last year we saw the growth of trade with the African continent; we exported to 50 countries and imported from 18 countries, and in the first five months of this year, exports grew 40 percent to 55 countries and imports rose 147 percent.”

    The IRICA spokesman also put Iran-Africa five-month exchange at 1.354 million tons with the worth of USD741.122 million, of which the stake of Iran’s shipments was 1.311 million tons valued at USD696.731 million, and the nation’s import stood at 42,629 tons with the worth of USD44.391 million.
