(MENAFN) QatarEnergy declared that it has chosen TotalEnergies as the initial global associate in the North Field South (NFS) expansion venture.
The NFS venture, which contains 2 LNG large trains with a joint volume of 16 million tons an annum (MTPA), is going to increase Qatar’s overall LNG shipment volume to 126 MTPA.
The partnership deal was inked by H E Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, the Minister of State for Energy Affairs, President and chief executive of QatarEnergy, as well as Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman of the Board and chief executive of TotalEnergies, throughout a ceremony hosted today at QatarEnergy’s head office in Doha and joined by senior directors from the two firms.
In his comments throughout the ceremony, H E Minister Al-Kaabi stated that “QatarEnergy is moving forward, to help meet growing global demand for cleaner energy, of which LNG is the backbone for a serious and realistic energy transition.
