    Iranian gas shipment surged 19 percent in first 5 months YoY

    (MENAFN) Iran’s gas shipment saw a surge of 19 percent in the opening five months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, as announced by the managing director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).

    Majid Chegeni stated that the nation’s average day-to-day gas shipment has been 70 million cubic meters in the stated five months’ period of this year, whereas the number stood at 59 million cubic meters in the same mentioned span of time of the last year.

    Mentioning that gas shipment to Iraq saw a 20 percent increase in the past year, the official declared around raising gas shipment to Turkey in the current Iranian year as well.

    Iran mostly ships gas to Turkey as well as Iraq but the sales have not always been stable as a result of debt-payment problems, local intake needs, as well as occasional technical issues.
