    Iran’s production of crude steel rises 9.9 percent in first 5 months

    (MENAFN) Output of crude steel in Iran surged 9.9 percent in the opening five months of the present Iranian calendar year (March 21-August 22), in comparison with the same span of time in the last year, as shown by the data issued by Industry, Mining and Trade Ministry.

    The ministry’s figures put the nation’s five-month crude steel output at 11.9 million tons.

    Also, the most recent report issued by the World Steel Association (WSA) indicates that Iran’s crude steel production has surged 64.7 percent in August this year from the same month last year.

    According to the WSA data, Iran outputted nearly 2.1 tons of crude steel in the stated month.

    The Islamic Republic manufactured 19.5 million tons of steel in the opening eight months of this year to record a 7.8 percent expansion in comparison with the same time span in the last year.

    Iran has sustained its spot as the glob’s 10th highest steel producer throughout the first 8 months of this year, as shown by the World Steel Association.
