    Turkey official takes trip to Tripoli to ink MOU in media, communications

    (MENAFN) Turkey’s Communications Directorate on Monday inked a deal with Libya's communication and political affairs minister during a formal trip to the Libyan capital Tripoli.

    Fahrettin Altun and Walid Al-Lafi inked a memorandum of understanding to additionally reinforce collaboration in the sector of media as well as communication, as mentioned in an announcement by the Communications Directorate.

    Both nations are going to make attempts to start a two-sided Media Platform, the announcement stated, pointing out that Turkey and Libya are going to act together to deal with fake news in addition to disinformation.

    The announcement also noted that "In addition to the training and exchange programs to be held between the two countries in the field of media and communication, cooperation between official news agencies is encouraged and mutual exchange of visual, audio and electronic content is anticipated."

    A top delegation, such as Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Governmental Representative Ibrahim Kalin, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez, Defense Minister Hulusi Akar, Trade Minister Mehmet Mus, in addition to Altun, took a trip to the capital of the North African nation for discussions on two-sided relations and regional problems.
