    Saudi airline flynas sees 91 percent expansion in passenger numbers to reach 8.7m in 2022

    (MENAFN) Saudi airline flynas saw a yearly passenger increase of 91 percent in 2022 to stand at 8.7 million, as the low-cost carrier helped the tourism industry’s post-epidemic revival.

    Last year, the figure of flights functioned by flynas rose by 45 percent to reach 66,000, whereas the seating volume increased by 46 percent, as shown by a Saudi Press Agency report.

    The report additionally mentioned that flynas began operating to 16 further destinations and 30 additioanl routes, in line with upscaling the overall fleet figure to 43 in 2022.

    “The growth rates recorded by flynas during 2022 in performance, operations, and localization programs reflect the company’s commitment to continuing expansion under the slogan ‘We Connect the World to the Kingdom’ and to consolidating its leading position as the best low-cost airline in the Middle East and one of the top 10 airlines in the world of its category,” according to flynas chief executive and Managing Director Bander Almohanna.

    “The annual results confirm the progress in the company’s strategic plan with the receiving of 8 new Airbus A320neo and joining 2 Airbus A330 aircraft, which will contribute to serving pilgrims and Umrah performers as well as expanding to new markets,” He also mentioned.
