Saudi Arabia leading green energy alteration in Middle East
(MENAFN) The necessity for energy security has never been more vital in the history of the world. After sharp political conflicts, energy change plans and plans initiatives are a vital part of the worldwide plan today, and nations are functioning hard to reach their net-zero aims within the specified deadline.
As the world carries on its trip to reach zero emission aims, Saudi Arabia, a nation that has been relying on oil for many years, is leading the energy transition mission in the Middle East area.
Saudi Green Initiative as well as the wider Middle East Green Initiative are transforming the entire green change in the area, and they are sufficiently backed by the Public Investment Fund’s Regional Voluntary Carbon Market Co. which auctioned off 1.4 million tons of carbon credits throughout the 6th edition of the Future Investment Initiative meeting hosted in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, in October 2022.
Paul Sullivan, teacher at Johns Hopkins University and a senior associate fellow at King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies Energy and Environmental Security, informed Arab News that Saudi Arabia is strongly advancing with higher energy effectiveness and resilience, along with the targets highlighted in Vision 2030.
The lecturer continued: “Saudi Arabia is progressing via Vision 2030, the Saudi Green Initiative, leading the Middle East Green Initiative, inter alia. It is making progress with solar energy. It will do a lot more on the many colors of hydrogen. It will likely start to develop a nuclear energy program further.”
