    UAE, France, India reach agreement on tripartite collaboration initiative

    (MENAFN) The UAE, France and India have reached an agreement on a three-sided collaboration initiative in many sectors such as energy and climate change, as reported by the Emirati state news agency WAM on Saturday.

    A joint announcement, which came after a phone discussion among UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, his French fellow Catherine Colonna, in addition to their Indian fellow Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, assured that the three-sided project is going to sponsor the mutual design and execution of ventures in many areas, counting in solar and nuclear energy, battling climate change, as well as protecting biodiversity, mainly in the Indian Ocean.

    “For this purpose, the three countries will explore the possibility of working with the Indian Ocean Rim Association to pursue concrete, actionable projects on clean energy, the environment, and biodiversity,” the announcement noted.

    the announcement also mentioned that “It was agreed that the three countries will seek to ensure greater alignment of their respective economic, technological, and social policies with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.”
