    Iran’s motorcycle output surges 89 percent in 10 months YoY

    (MENAFN) Motorcycle output in Iran has surged by 89 percent in the opening 10 months of the ongoing Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023) in comparison with the same time span last year, as domestic producers look to ramp up shipments to bordering nations.

    As IRNA mentioned in a reports, around 373,662 motorcycles were outputted during the 10 months timespan of the ongoing year, whereas the production amounted to 198,087 in the same time span last year, as reported by IRIB.

    Previously in January, Bahman Zia’ Moghaddam, the secretary of Iran’s Association of Motorbike Industry, asserted that the yearly production of motorcycles in Iran is estimated to amount to more than 400,000 units in the ongoing calendar year which closes in late March.

    Iran has 44 motorcycle production factories which supply permanent employments to 16,000 people; more than 80,000 people are also operating in the sector, indirectly.

    In line with IRNA, right now, 60 percent of the equipment and parts utilized in motorcycle output are provided by local producers.
