Over 8,700 Units Under Construction in Iran's National Housing Movement in Gilan Province

(MENAFN) Iran’s National Housing Movement has been making significant progress as 8,700 units are currently under construction in the Gilan province, according to the governor-general of the province, Asadollah Abbasi. Housing and employment have been prioritized by the 13th government, with the president emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the promises made. Abbasi stated, “The president has ordered us and emphasized to fulfill the promises made; therefore, in the province, we have issues related to employment and housing on the agenda and priority.”

Arsalan Maleki, the acting head of the National Land and Housing Organization, announced in mid-February that about 71,000 hectares of land has already been provided for the National Housing Movement plan, with around 28 hectares provided in the past year. Approximately 28,000 hectares of land have been provided within city boundaries, and more than 12,000 hectares have been annexed to cities. The private sector has also been invited to participate in the National Housing Movement to provide land, particularly in provinces with land shortages.

The National Housing Movement aims to construct four million housing units within four years and is one of the major plans of the current government in the housing sector. Out of these four million residential units, 3.2 million units will be constructed in cities and 800,000 units in villages. With the necessary lands and preparations in place, some of these units are currently being constructed.
