Radisson Hotel Group Plans to Triple Its Presence in MENA Region
(MENAFN) Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has announced plans to triple its presence in the Middle East by 2030, with the aim of having 150 properties in operation and under development in the region by the end of the decade. The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, where the firm’s Chief Operating Officer for the Middle East and Africa, Tim Cordon, stated that the company is excited to be part of the growing hospitality industry in the Middle East.
RHG currently operates 52 hotels and resorts in the region, with nine separate hotel brands. The group has made a strong impact across crucial feeder markets in the Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Jordan. The company is planning to open seven properties across Saudi Arabia in 2023, including two new hotels in Makkah, driven by the surge in religious tourism. The group also plans to expand its footprint in the Kingdom with Radisson Blu hotels in Riyadh and Alkhobar.
In addition to expanding its presence in the region, RHG is on track to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050, according to Cordon. The group has reduced its carbon footprint by 30% in the last decade and has also made all meetings or events held at its properties worldwide 100% carbon neutral from February 2023. The company is committed to promoting sustainable practices throughout its operations in all its properties, striving for a zero-emission environment.
RHG's commitment to sustainability aligns with its vision to make a positive impact on the planet and engage with industry partners and guests to drive sustainable tourism. The group's plans to expand its presence in the Middle East are in response to the boom in the region's hospitality industry, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. With its portfolio of nine separate hotel brands, RHG is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for hospitality services in the region. Through its expansion plans and commitment to sustainability, RHG aims to become a leading player in the Middle East hospitality industry.
