Amir Khorami-Shad Appointed as Head of IMIDRO by Acting Industry Minister
(MENAFN) Amir Khorami-Shad has been appointed as the new head of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) by Acting Industry, Mining, and Trade Minister Mehdi Niazi, according to IRNA. Khorami-Shad replaces Vajihollah Jafari, who had been heading the organization since December 2020.
Khorami-Shad is a former deputy head for planning and rehabilitation at IMIDRO. As the new head of the organization, he will oversee its major state-owned holding companies and 55 operational subsidiaries, which are active in the mining sector in Iran. These companies are involved in steel, aluminum, copper, cement, and mineral exploitation fields.
IMIDRO is a significant player in the mining sector in Iran, and its activities are crucial to the country's economy. The organization's mission is to promote the development and renovation of Iran's mines and mining industries, with a focus on sustainable development. Its subsidiaries are involved in various aspects of the mining industry, from exploration and extraction to processing and distribution.
Khorami-Shad's appointment comes at a time when the mining sector in Iran is facing significant challenges, including declining production and exports due to sanctions and a lack of investment. The new head of IMIDRO will need to address these challenges and work to promote the growth and development of the sector. His experience in planning and rehabilitation at IMIDRO will be an asset in this regard, as he will be able to draw on his knowledge of the organization's operations and strategies.
In conclusion, Khorami-Shad's appointment as the new head of IMIDRO is a significant development for the mining sector in Iran. As he takes on this role, he will be tasked with promoting the development and renovation of Iran's mines and mining industries, and addressing the challenges facing the sector. His experience and expertise in planning and rehabilitation will be valuable in this regard, and will help to ensure that IMIDRO continues to play a crucial role in the country's economy.
