King Khalid International Airport Leads in Service Levels Among Saudi Arabian Airports

(MENAFN) According to the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh has emerged as the top-performing international airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia when it comes to service levels and travel experience. In April, the airport achieved a commendable commitment rate of 64 percent, although it witnessed a slight decline from its 82 percent rating in March.

The monthly performance report by GACA revealed that King Khalid International Airport handles a substantial annual passenger volume of over 15 million travelers. To assess airport performance, the authority has established 14 key performance indicators. These indicators include factors such as passengers' waiting time during check-in, security procedures, time spent at baggage claims, as well as evaluating passport and customs screening areas and facilities for individuals with special needs.

Following King Khalid International Airport, King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah secured the second spot in the rankings for international airports in the Kingdom. However, it experienced a decrease in its commitment rate from 73 percent in the previous month to 36 percent in April.

In the category of international airports with an annual passenger volume ranging from 5 million to 15 million, Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah emerged as the top performer with a commitment rate of 73 percent. King Fahd International Airport in Dammam followed closely behind, achieving a commitment rate of 64 percent.

Among the international airports in the Kingdom that handle an annual passenger volume between 2 million and 5 million, Abha International Airport claimed the first position with a perfect 100 percent commitment rate. King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Airport in Jizan secured the next spot with a commitment rate of 73 percent in April.

In the fourth category, which encompasses airports with an annual passenger volume of less than 2 million, Al-Ahsa International Airport in Qassim ranked first. Despite handling fewer passengers, it achieved a remarkable 100 percent commitment rate. Notably, this category of airports exhibited a higher overall average waiting time for departing and arriving flights compared to other airports in the Kingdom.

The exceptional performance of King Khalid International Airport and other top-ranking airports highlights their commitment to providing excellent service and enhancing the travel experience for passengers. The continuous efforts by GACA and airport authorities to evaluate and improve performance indicators contribute to the overall efficiency and satisfaction of travelers across the Kingdom's airports.
