Aramco hires new leaders for upstream, downstream sectors
(MENAFN) Saudi Arabian Oil Co. has hired new leaders for its upstream and downstream sectors as the oil giant seeks to materialize its long-term plans through the international portfolio as well as value chain.
As mentioned in a press announcmenet, Saudi Aramco has hired Nasir K. Al-Naimi as the leader of its upstream business as well as Mohammed Y. Al-Qahtani as the leader of the downstream business.
The firm’s board has agreed on the newly established positions and activities of directors, and the alterations are going to be impactful from July 1, 2023.
Al-Naimi and Al-Qahtani are going to report to Amin Nasser, leader as well as CEO of Saudi Aramco.
“I am delighted to announce these appointments, which demonstrate our emphasis on the upstream and downstream components of our business as Aramco continues to transform to meet the world’s energy demand,” according to Nasser.
He continued: “We expect this decision to help drive operational and financial performance, supporting our upstream capacity growth and our downstream expansion, together with our ambition to achieve net-zero Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions across wholly-owned operated assets by 2050.”
