Strong Russian-Turkish Cooperation Yields USD62 Billion Trade Volume
(MENAFN) According to a senior Russian diplomat, last year witnessed a remarkable trade volume of over USD62 billion between Turkey and Russia. Yury Pilipson, the director of the 4th European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, highlighted the dynamic development of Russian-Turkish cooperation in recent years. He attributed this success to the joint efforts of both governments, relevant departments, and economic entities, emphasizing the significant potential for further partnership and the pursuit of new horizons.
Pilipson also acknowledged that the Western countries, discontented with the achievements of effective Russian-Turkish cooperation, have displayed a preference for undermining the progress that has been made. Despite this destructive stance, he expressed confidence in the ability of Russia and Turkey to counter the subversive attempts of hostile forces. Pilipson emphasized the resilience and determination of the two nations in preserving their collaborative efforts.
The diplomat underlined the significant role of energy cooperation in the Russian-Turkish partnership. Notably, the successful operation of two gas pipelines, namely BlueStream and TurkStream, has played a crucial part in strengthening ties between the two countries. Furthermore, the establishment of a gas hub aimed at enhancing infrastructure for future growth in the energy sector is viewed as a significant step towards expanding commercial contacts.
The trade volume of over USD62 billion between Turkey and Russia serves as a testament to the fruitful cooperation that has flourished in recent years. With a focus on energy and other sectors, the two nations have effectively harnessed their potential for mutual benefit. Despite external pressures, the commitment of Russia and Turkey to their partnership remains unwavering, promising a continued path of success and collaboration.
