    Turkey's benchmark stock index increases by 0.12 percent

    (MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkey's benchmark stock index increased by 0.12 percent, or 143.62 points, to begin the day at 120,392.65 points.


    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 1.34 percent at Monday's close, to arrive at 120,249.03 points with a daily trading volume of USD2.5 billion.


    On Tuesday, the USD/Turkish lira exchange rate reached 5.8760 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) which was also at 5.8730 at Monday's close and the euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also arrived at 6.5480, next to 6.5290, and one British pound traded for 7.6520 Turkish liras, next to 7.6440 at the last close.


    On Tuesday, one barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around USD64.30 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
