    Turkey's daily electricity usage drop by 5.84 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed on Sunday that, on Saturday, Turkey's daily electricity usage dropped by 5.84 percent to 885,431 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage peaked at 19:00 local time with 39,030 megawatt-hours and Turkey's electricity consumption decreased to its lowest point of 29,331 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Saturday, total electricity production arrived at 839,104 megawatt-hours with a 5.84 percent drop in comparison with the last day; most of the output came from natural gas plants at 231,814 megawatt-hours.


    Imported coal plants and wind power plants followed with 210,407 megawatt-hours and 105,623 megawatt-hours, respectively; Turkey's electricity exports totaled 7,401 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,990 megawatt-hours on Saturday.
