    Egypt: domestic natural gas usage to increase in next fiscal year

    (MENAFN) The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources predicted the raise in domestic natural gas usage in the coming financial year 2020/21 at about 375m cubic feet of gas for each day (scf/day).


    The average domestic market usage of natural gas in financial year 2020/2021 was expected at 6.979bn scf/day, in comparison with 6.61billion scf/day in financial year 2019/20, as said by a source in the petroleum sector.


    The source said that, power plants account for 78 percent of the climb in gas usage.


    Power stations usually get 60 percent of total local gas usage, while industry accounts for 30 percent, cars, and household 10 percent; the surplus of domestic production is directed to export through the liquefaction factories.
