    Foreign trade gap in Turkey stands at USD31.17 billion in 2019

    (MENAFN) Turkey's statistical authority said that, Turkey's foreign trade gap in 2019 decreased 43.5 percent to reach USD31.17 billion in comparison with USD55.12 billion in 2018.


    During 2019 Turkey's exports increased 2.1 percent to arrive at USD171.5 billion while imports decreased 9.1 percent to reach to USD202.7 billion, as said in a report by TurkStat, it added, Turkey's export/import coverage ratio stood at 84.6 percent last year in comparison with 75.3 percent in 2018.


    Turkey made exports of USD14.7 billion, up 6.4 percent yearly, while Turkey's imports increased 14.9 percent to arrive at USD19.2 billion in December.


    The foreign trade shortage in December 2019 was USD4.3 billion, up 57.6 percent in comparison with December 2018; "in December 2019, the exports coverage imports was 77.3% while it was 83.4% in December 2018".
