    Irbid governorate's exports to foreign markets increase in January

    (MENAFN) The Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI) said in a monthly report that, in January, Irbid governorate's exports to foreign markets grew by 72.9 percent at a worth of USD92.3 million in comparison with the same period the year before.


    The ICI's figures showed that, in comparison with 1396 in January last year, 1466 certificates of origin were issued in January.


    According to ICI, Al-Hassan Industrial Estate was ranked first in total exports with a worth of USD80.1 million, CyberCity Industrial Estate reached USD10.5 million and exports from Irbid regions stood at USD1.6 million.


    The textile and leather industries made the rise, with a worth of USD47.5 million, 83.6 percent of the total exports, as said by President of ICI, Hani Abu Hassan.
