    Value of trade between Iran, USA drops to USD74.5 million

    (MENAFN) According to the latest statistics released by the American Statistical Association (ASA), the worth of trade linking Iran and the U.S. dropped to USD74.5 million in 2019, 85 percent less than the figure for 2018.


    In 2018, the trade linking both nations had stood at USD495.7 million increasing from USD199 million in the year before and in 2016, the figure reached USD258 million.


    Iran imported commodities valued USD73.1 million from the U.S. in 2019, a drop of 83 percent from USD425.8 million in the year before; Iran exported goods valued USD1.4 million to the U.S. in the past year, with a 98-percent decrease from USD69.9 million in the previous year.


    In 2019, Iran was ranked 165th between U.S. export destinations and 212th between the country's top import sources.
