    Turkey's benchmark stock index decreases 0.46 percent

    (MENAFN) On Monday, Turkey's benchmark stock index decreased 0.46 percent, or 555.76 points, to begin the week at 120,459.39 points and at Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 1.04 percent to 121,015.14 points with a daily trading volume of USD1.9 billion.


    As of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, the USD/Turkish lira exchange rate was 6.0120 in comparison with 5.9950 at last week's close.


    The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 6.5870, in comparison with 6.5650, and one British pound traded for 7.7770 Turkish liras, while it was 7.7660 at the last close.


    From 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday, one barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around USD54.57.
