CBE receives 32 offers from local, foreign investors to invest T-Bills auction
(MENAFN) As the treasury bills (T-Bills) auction was released on Monday, the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) got 32 offers from local and foreign investors to invest USD1.0548 billion in it.
On 9 February 2021, the CBE started an auction of USD900 million T-Bills a maturity of 364 days and the profits of this issuance will be going to to repay the previous T-Bills issuance of USD1.0141billion released by the CBE on 12 February 2019.
The CBE accepted 27 of those offers, at a worth of USD984.8 million at an interest that ranged among 3.44 percent as the lowest cost, 3.5 percent as the highest price, and 3.491 percent on average, in comparison with 3.52 percent, 3.55 percent, and 3.54 percent, respectively, in a similar auction in January 2020.
Other offers from investors who asked for an interest of 4.10 percent were discarded by the CBE.
