    63,000 tons of olive oil exported by Tunisia in 3 months through January

    (MENAFN) According to information provided by the Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries minister Samir Taieb, 63,000 tons of olive oil were exported by Tunisia in the 3 months through January; from November 2019 through January 2020, income stood at USD147.4 million.


    As said by the minister, the figures are good in these 3 first months of the recent olive season and Tunisian olive oil exports are likely to increase in March and April and will carry on at a stable rate.


    By the end of 2020, foreign sales might be over 250,000 tons generating an income of USD837 billion, as Taieb expected.


    From the 63,000 tons exported from November to January, 5,000 went to the European Union also; Brazil imported 375.6 tons of Tunisian olive oil for USD1.4 million in the 3 months through January as figures from Brazil's Secretariat of Foreign Trade (SECEX) showed.
