    Tunisia's national production of phosphates reaches 4.1 million tons

    (MENAFN) According to Tunisian industry ministry, as an increase of 46 percent from 2018, in 2019, Tunisia's national production of phosphates stood at 4.1 million tons.


    As said in a statement by the ministry, "during the period 2017-2019, the average annual production of phosphate was at the level of 3.6 million tons, registering a 20 percent growth from an average of 3 million tons for the period 2011-2016".


    The statement added that, in the past 5 months, around 15,000 tons of phosphate have been produced every day.


    The yearly phosphate production will be over 6 million tons, which could bring profits of USD350 million and add 1 percent to the economic expansion rate.
