    Natural gas imports to drop: Turkey

    (MENAFN) Turkish energy watchdog's data showed that, in December 2019, Turkey's natural gas imports dropped by around 10.51 percent in comparison with December 2018.


    According to a report by Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), in December last year, natural gas imports fell to 5.42 billion cubic meters (bcm) from 6.05 bcm for December 2018.


    As said in EMRA's data, Turkey imported 3.66 bcm of natural gas using pipeline, while in December 2019, 1.75 bcm was purchased as LNG.


    In December 2019, Turkey's total gas usage dropped by 6.22 percent to approximately 5.2 bcm from around 5.54 bcm in the same month of 2018.
