    Electricity production in Turkey grows by 0.57 percent

    (MENAFN) As said in latest data released by Turkey's energy watchdog, in comparison with December 2018, Turkey's electricity production grew by 0.57 percent in December 2019.


    As said in report by Turkey's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), in comparison with 25,612 million kWh in December 2018, total electricity production increased to approximately 25,757 million kilowatt-hours (kWh).


    Turkey produced its electricity from different resources, as it produced 24.77 percent from natural gas, 23.81 percent from import coal and 19.76 percent from hydropower. Lignite, wind, geothermal, biomass, hard coal, asphaltite, fuel oil, solar and diesel generated the remaining share.


    Usage in the industrial sector witnessed the largest share at 43.20 percent, followed by the commercial sector with 27.25 percent and residential usage was in third place with 24.8 percent, while agricultural irrigation and street lighting accounted for the remainder.
