    Jordan: unemployment rate increases 0.3 percent in last quarter of 2019

    (MENAFN) In comparison with the fourth quarter of 2018, the unemployment rate stood at 19 percent in the last quarter of 2019, which is a rise of 0.3 percent.


    The high rate of unemployment for males reached 17.7 percent, and 24.1 percent for females, as said in a report about Jordan's unemployment rate for the last quarter of 2019, by the General Statistics Department (GSD).


    A high unemployment rate between university degree holders arrived at 22.4 percent, in comparison with other educational levels, as the report said.


    The unemployment rate for holders of secondary school certificate or higher reached 50.7 percent and 49.3 percent of the overall jobless had educational qualifications under the secondary school education.
