    Turkey's energy imports estimated to decrease by USD12 billion

    (MENAFN) As said by experts, Turkey's energy imports are likely to drop by USD12 billion and inflation is predicted to fall by 0.5 percent-1 percent if crude prices average among USD35 and USD45 this year.


    On Monday, crude oil prices dropped around 30 percent to stand at their lowest level in 4 years and economies and budgets of oil-importing countries will be affected.


    Over the decrease in crude prices, from Tuesday midnight onwards, Turkey's gasoline prices dropped USD0.097 and diesel prices USD0.089.


    According to Finance Analyst Haluk Burumcekci, "the decline in gasoline and diesel prices could lower inflation by 0.5 basis points".
