Libya's oil fields, ports to reopen

(MENAFN) After the closing of Libya's oil fields and ports in January by tribal leaders in protest against the UN-backed government, Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) called for reopening on Friday.

According to state-owned NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla, "we call on those responsible for the closure to immediately lift the blockade and spare oil sector workers and citizens' further suffering".

Libya's daily oil production has decreased from over 1.2 million to less than 100,000 barrels for each day, resulting losses of over USD3 billion until now, as said by the NOC.
