    Total turnover of Turkey's economy jumps 20.5 percent

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the total turnover of Turkey's economy increased 20.5 percent yearly in January.


    TurkStat data showed that, major yearly rises in the turnover indices in the industry, trade, and service sectors made up for a drop in the construction sector.


    During the same period, the total turnover index in trade enjoyed the highest increase, up 27 percent; as said by TurkStat, the turnover indices in services and industry grew respectively by 20.8 percent and 20.1 percent.


    In January from the same month in 2019, the index value in construction decreased 17.9 percent; TurkStat data showed that Turkey's seasonally and calendar adjusted total turnover index monthly change grew 0.8 percent.
