Lebanese government to find sustainable solution to Lebanon's earlier default on its debt
(MENAFN) The Lebanese government will have transparent and good-faith talks with Lebanon's private creditors to find a credible and maintainable solution to Lebanon's former default on its debt, according to Lebanese Finance Minister Ghazi Wazne.
As said by Wazne, "the government has a full agenda over the coming months to design and implement its comprehensive recovery plan, and conduct its public debt restructuring. Our aim is to finalize this ambitious turnaround agenda before the end of 2020".
Wazne also said that, the Lebanese cabinet plans to execute an in-depth banking sector reform linking both commercial banks the central bank in order to improve a productive economy.
He added that, "we also aim at implementing a fiscal reform plan aiming to generating reasonable primary surplus over the medium to long term in addition to ambitious structural reforms to enhance growth notably through the development of the productive economy and investment to rebuild infrastructure".
