    Gross external debt stock amounts at USD436.9 billion in 2019: Turkey

    (MENAFN) According to a report by Treasury and Finance Ministry, at the end of last year, Turkey's gross external debt stock amounted at USD436.9 billion.


    As said in a statement by the ministry, the figure was 58 percent of Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019.


    As of Dec. 31, Turkey's net foreign debt amounted at USD244.6 billion accounting for 32.5 percent of its GDP.


    The data showed that, Treasury assured foreign debt stock was USD14.3 billion as of end-December; EU-defined general government debt stock totaled USD238.3 billion, or 33.1 percent of GDP at the end of 2019.
