Jordan: 310,000 barrels of Iraqi oil imported during March

(MENAFN) As said by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hala Zawati, Jordan imported as many as 310,000 barrels of Iraqi oil during March carried by 1,195 tank trucks.

Oil quantities imported since the start of September 2019 until the end of March 2020 totaled 2.1 million barrels, transported from the oil refinery in Iraq to the Jordan Petroleum Refinery (JPR) in Zarqa governorate, at an average of 10 thousand barrels for each day, according to a statement by Zawati.

The import of Iraqi oil comes within a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked between both countries in February 2019.

The minister said that, "precautionary measures due to coronavirus are taken during the transferring process by unloading oil from Iraqi tank trucks into Jordanian ones at the border point".
