    Iran to produce 14 million tons of wheat in current calendar year

    (MENAFN) According to Esmaeil Esfandiari-Pour, the advisor to Agriculture Minister, Iran is projected to produce 14 million tons of wheat in the recent Iranian calendar year.


    Coronavirus pandemic is not going to impact the wheat harvest in Iran which has been already started in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, as said by the official.


    The wheat harvest season is about 4.5 months in Iran beginning in early April up to mid-August, said the official.


    Iranian farmers made about 14.5 million tons of wheat in the earlier Iranian calendar year, 1.2 million tons over the figure for its previous year, as agriculture ministry data showed.
