    Benchmark stock index closes day at 97,619.00 points: Turkey

    (MENAFN) On Tuesday, Turkey's benchmark stock index ended the day at 97,619.00 points, dropping 1.34 percent from the earlier close.

    After beginning the day at 98,368.45 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1,326.88 points in comparison with 98,945.88 points at Monday's close.

    The BIST 100 was among 97,275.89 points and 98,503.31 points on Tuesday; as many as 34 stocks increased and 66 decreased from the earlier close.

    The benchmark index registered a daily trading volume of USD1.5 billion and ended the day with a market value of some USD99.2 billion.
