    Third-biggest exporter of clothes to EU: Turkey

    (MENAFN) According to the bloc's statistical authority, Turkey is the third-largest exporter of clothes to the EU.

    As said by Eurostat, "the EU imported clothes worth USD166 billion in 2019, just over half of which came from non-EU Member States (52 percent, or Euro 80 billion)".

    Eurostat added that, "imports of clothes from non-EU countries came mainly from China (Euro 23 billion, or 29 percent of total extra-EU clothes), Bangladesh (Euro15 billion, 19 percent) and Turkey (Euro 9 billion, 11 percent."

    Imports of clothing to the bloc grew in worth by 62 percent over the last decade; Germany was the largest importer of clothes from non-EU countries.
