Saudi Arabia's tourism sector to witness year-on-year decline

(MENAFN) According to Ahmed Al-Khateeb, Minister of Tourism, KSA's tourism sector could witness a yearly drop among 35 percent and 45 percent this year over the government's procedures to fight the coronavirus pandemic, depending on how fast Saudi Arabia will reopen and receive visitors.

As said by Ahmed Al-Khateeb, "the sector has been severely impacted, hotels globally are suffering today from very low occupancy ratios, and it is the case here in Saudi Arabia as well. We hope things get better in the next few weeks and we have a fast recovery."

Saudi government is willing to reopen the economy once the pandemic is under control.

KSA opened its doors to foreign visitors from 49 countries in September last year by issuing tourist visas
