    Turkey's auto output over 352,000 in 2020 starting 4 months

    Turkey auto manufacturers have made a total of 352,309 vechiles, automobiles and commercial vehicles included, the period between January and April of 2020, a sectoral report said on Sunday.

    The Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association said that the auto output of the country saw a yearly decline of 28 percent over the closure of facotries due to the coronavirus outbreak of the country.

    It added that about 82 percent of the total made vehicles have been exported to other countires, marking a 33 percent yearly drop to reach only 286,963 units in the starting four months of the currrent year.

    The automotive exports of Turkey stood at a value of USD7.8 billion in the cited period, representing a decline of 27 percent compared to a year ago.

    However, the overall auto sales market in the country posted an increase of 27 percent since a year ago to reach 155,873 vehicles.
