    February jobless rate in Turkey drops to 13.6 percent

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) released data on Monday showing that the jobless rate in Turkey has decline to 13.6 percent in February, representing a loss of 1.1 percent compared to the same month a year earlier.

    The number of unemployed citizens who are over 15 years of age dropped 502,000 since a year earlier to set at 4.23 million at the end of the cited month.

    The jobless rate in February saw a decline of 0.2 percent on Monthly basis as it came in at 13.8 percent in January.

    According to official data, the non-agricultural jobless rate dropped 1.5 percent to reach 15.4 percent in the same month.

    The unemployment rate among the youth, which is for citizens aged 15-24, came in at 24.4 percent in February, a yearly decline of 1.7 percent.
