Exports of non oil products in Iran might hit USD100 billion

    (MENAFN)

ILNA said that the Export Promotion Committee of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) head in Iran said that the country can raise its yearly non oil exports to reach a total of USD100 billion.

Jamshid Nafar was quoted saying on Monday that "If the government consults with the private sector in the export sector, we can achieve the last year's export figures and even more, otherwise reaching this goal will be very difficult".

Speaking of the exports decline in the starting month of the ongoing Iranian calendar year, starting on the 20th of March, the official said that "In Farvardin [the first Iranian calendar month], the figure has only reached $1.6 billion, which is perfectly normal considering the problems caused by the coronavirus outbreak, the problem will be solved by the opening of the borders".

Adding that "Our main problems in exports are the lack of infrastructure, problems related to various directives and management issues, and if we want to increase the value of exports, we must find solutions to these problems".

The Iranian government has been planning to raise its non oil exports to its neighboring countires throughtout the ongoing Iranian calender year.
