69 percent decline in Lebanon new car sales

    (MENAFN)

Local independent newspaper in Lebanon, Elnashra, said on Tuesday that the new car sales in Lebanon declined 69 percent in the starting four months of 2020 compared to the same period in the earlier year over the bad economic situation.

Car manufacturers have sold a total of 2,532 new cars in the starting four months of the year in comparison with 8,102 in the same period the previous year, as only 188 new cars were sold in April compared to 2,168 a year ago.

Lebanon has been suffering deteriorating economic situation, the vehicle importers were not able to easily access the United States currency to import cars which has resulted in a rise in the prices of new cars.

Adding that the coronavirus outbreak in the country has forced car companies to shut down for a long period of time.
