    Exports of Turkey stand at USD9 billion in April

    The statistical authority of Turkey said on Friday that the exports of the country declined 41.4 percent in April compared to a year earlier to set at USD8.99 billion in the month.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) said that the import of Turkey aslo saw a decline of 25 percent to set at a total of uSD13.55 billion in April in comparison to the same month of a year earlier.

    Adding that the foreign trade deficit stood at USD4.56 billion, representing a rise of 67 percent in comaprison with the same month a year ago.

    TurkStat said that "in April 2020, the exports-covering-imports ratio was 66.3% while it was 84.9% in April 2019".
