    Turkey: Fishery production up 33.1 percent last year

    Fishery production in Turkey announced a 33.1 percent upsurge in 2019 on an annual basis, the country's statistical office stated on Friday, June 5th.

    The fishery production came into 836,524 tons last year, according to TurkStat figures.

    It noted that "the total fishery production was composed of caught sea fish by 44.8%, caught other sea products by 6.8%, caught inland water products by 3.8%, and aquaculture products by 44.6%."

    "The capture of marine production increased by 52 percent and the capture of inland water production increased by 4.8 percent with respect to the previous year."
