    35 percent growth in Iranian water usage

    IRNA quoted the Iranian Deputy Energy Minister for Water and Wastewater Affairs as saying that the water usage in the country rose 35 percent after the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

    The official, Ghasem Taqizadeh Khamesi, said that "the outbreak of coronavirus has changed the pattern of household water consumption, increasing drinking water consumption in the country by 35 percent".

    Saying that the water usage has increased strongly during the first few weeks of lockdowns in households.

    The official added "however, this situation did not last for long and gradually the families got used to the new situation and water consumption became more balanced in many provinces of the country".
