    Turkish economy witnesses total turnover down 20.9 percent

    The Turkish economy's total turnover eyed a yearly reduction of 20.9 percent in April, the nation's statistical institute reported on Friday, June 12th.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) stated that the turnover in industry decreased by 24.9 percent during the same period.

    On the services side, the turnover index weakened by 23.9 percent and the figure in trade decreased by 17.4 percent on an annual basis.

    The construction sector's turnover slipped 19.6 percent on a yearly basis in April.

    The official report also revealed that Turkey's seasonally and calendar-adjusted total turnover index -shows monthly change- dropped by 24.5 percent in the same month.
