    Trade between Iran, India to recommence in 2 weeks

    Parham Rezaei stated that while the coronavirus pandemic has produced some struggles for trade between the two countries, which are still existing, all the restrictions will be lifted by the coming two weeks.

    Iran and India had held a new round of negotiations on signing a preferential trade agreement (PTA) between the bilateral mid-February.

    Established in 2016, the negotiation on this agreement is stated to be in the final stages, and the two sides wish that the list of the commodity items entitled to preferential tariffs will be finished in the next round of the talks.

    During the previous (fourth) round of the negotiations, which took place in Tehran, the two countries discussed the draft text of the agreement which is to decrease tariff rates by 25 percent to 45 percent.
