    Turkish Treasury borrows 830m USD during auctions

    The Turkish Treasury borrowed almost 5.68 billion Turkish liras (about 830 million U.S. dollars) from domestic markets on Tuesday, June 16th.

    As 2.48 billion Turkish liras (362 million U.S. dollars) in 6-month zero coupon treasury bill (re-opened, second issue) were up for auction that will be held on Wednesday, June 17th, and mature on December 9, the Treasury and Finance Ministry stated.

    The total tender for the treasury bills came into 6.5 billion Turkish liras (950 million U.S. dollars) with a 38.1 percent accepted rate.

    The Treasury highlighted that the term rate of 175-day treasury bill was 3.87 percent, while the yearly simple and compound interest rates were 8.04 percent and 8.21 percent, respectively.
